Rabbi Daniel Roselaar

Rabbi Daniel Roselaar has been Rav of Alei Tzion since the summer of 2010, having previously been the Rabbi in the Belmont and Watford communities. He is passionate about Alei Tzion and what it can achieve and he is proud to lead a community which is committed to Shemirat Mitzvot, Talmud Torah and a serious engagement with Israel and the modern world. He is a proud Modern-Orthodox Religious Zionist and he has the knowledge and skills to promote the ideals that our community stands for.

Learning

Rabbi Roselaar possesses a strong background in learning and is a communal rabbi of great experience, and many younger rabbis and colleagues turn to him for halachic and rabbinic guidance. He spent eight years studying in Yeshivat Har Etzion and is a talmid of both Rav Yehudah Amital z"l and Rav Aharon Lichtenstein. He received the prestigious semicha of the Israeli Chief Rabbinate as well as the semicha of Rav Z N Goldberg and also has an MA degree in Jewish Education from the University of London.

Communal experience

Rabbi Roselaar has served in the communal rabbinate for almost two decades and has wide experience in all aspects of communal life. As well as giving a very wide range of shiurim to people of different age ranges and backgrounds, he has also counselled congregants through challenging times in their lives, prepared couples for marriage and officiated at the full range of life-cycle events, both happy and sad.

Rabbi Roselaar plays an important role in the wider Jewish community as well. He is a frequent and popular contributor to the United Synagogue's Daf Hashavua and serves as the Rav of the United Synagogue Burial Society & Chevra Kaddisha. He is also the Rosh Kollel of the Kinloss Community Kollel where he gives a wide range of shiurim.

Family

The Rav is supported in his work by his wife Na'amah who has degrees from Columbia University in New York and Yeshiva University and has also studied at Nishmat in Jerusalem. She works as an Occupational Therapist. They have four children - Devorah, Elisheva, Netanel and Chananya.
